    Description

    I am listing for sale an assortment of ¼-watt carbon-film resistors with a 5% tolerance. The purpose of this listing is to assist hobbyists who only need a small quantity of resistors in variety for their projects and experiments. This way you do not have to buy in bulk of each value for your project which may only require a few. Below is a comprehensive list of resistor values that I have available for this assortment. Your order will be batch-packaged, meaning the assortment will be in a single container, not sorted out. Since they are clearly marked with their values, it is the expectation of the buyer to be able to read the color bands and understand their values. A simple internet search for "Resistor Color Band" should give you a comprehensive table to understand how to read them if you do not already know.
    Combine this listing with any of my other listings that offer free shipping and I will waive the shipping cost for the resistors as well. Please check out my other items! If you see something you like, please add your order of resistors to your Shopping Cart and then place an order of any of my other products that also offer free shipping. then check them out from your cart at the same time.
    During your purchase process, it is my expectation that you will include a list of your needs as far as resistor values in the "Message to Seller" area. For instance: If you need 27x 470-ohm, 13x 10k-ohm, 7x 1-megohm, 2x 5.6k-ohm and 1x 22k-ohm resistors for your 50-pc assortment, then that's how you would express your need after your purchase. You can mix and match all that you need up to the quantity of the order. If you forget to do this, I will reach out to you before I pack up your order. If I don't hear from you after 2 days then I will send you the DEFAULT assortment, listed below according to the quantity you've selected. If your explanation is incomplete, (I.e. Ordering a 100-pc. assortment but only requesting 25x of a specific value) then I will do my best to fill in the remaining values with a broad variety to complete your assortment but I make no guarantees as to the variety.
    If there is a value that you need and I do not have listed, please ask before you purchase. I can usually find the less-common values and I would be delighted to put them in stock for you. If my stock is low on a value that you are ordering, I will inform you right away and give you the option to cancel the transaction and issue you a refund, or wait up to two weeks for my distributor to restock me. I promise to offer you a definite timeline for shipment if this happens. But I cannot promise that every package will ship the same day because of this.
    All resistors in this listing are ¼-watt, 5% tolerance. If you need a different wattage or precision resistors, you should ask me for a quote.

    Working with LEDs but you are unsure of the resistor values?
    Use this mathematical equation to find the value of the resistor you need:
    Step 1: Assuming you are using DC power, V
    in
    is the value of your DC Voltage. Or if you are using AC power, V
    in
    is the RMS voltage.
    Step 2: Subtract
    V
    f
    from
    V
    in
    where
    V
    f
    is your LED forward voltage, usually 3.0 volts.
    Step 3: Then Divide your answer by
    I
    f
    which is the Forward Current of your LED, usually 20mA or 0.02 Amps for this calculation. This will produce the resistor value that you need to reduce the voltage and current in order to illuminate your LEDs properly without overloading them.
    V
    in
    -
    V
    f
    R =  --------------------
    I
    f
    For instance: If you are using a 9-volt battery, your LED is standard 3-volts Forward, 20mA. Then to find the resistance, 9v - 3v = 6 / 0.02A = 300 ohms. Either a 300 or a 330 ohm resistor will work perfectly for your application.
    If you are connecting multiple LEDs in series, the Forward Voltage applies to each LED, therefore you must add their
    V
    f
    together in the same table.
    V

    -
    (V1
    f
    +
    V2
    f
    +
    V3
    f
    )
    R =  -------------------------------

    ____________________________________________________________________________
    Thank you for visiting my listing! Because of the Novel virus pandemic, all the Train shows, Hamfests and many other expos that I might have set up my booth at are cancelled which means I have no way to exhibit my products now except on Ebay and other online services. So it really means a lot to see the views to my items. It's as though you were at the show and walked into my booth, maybe even picked up one of my items to inspect it. The only part that's missing is the friendly conversations about what project you might be working on and what you are looking for to add to it. I do miss the chance to chat, so if you have something you are looking for, or perhaps you already have it and would like to discuss the operation, please contact me here on ebay! I enjoy helping other hobbyists.
